Fraxel is a new FDA-approved laser for treatment of wrinkles, age spots, acne scarring and melasma (increased pigmentation of the skin). This new gradual treatment allows for safe treatment on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands and legs! The innovative Fraxel system is designed to treat only fractional columns of the skin. For every "zone" the laser targets, it leaves the surrounding tissue unaffected and intact. This “fractional” treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once. Multiple treatments can produce significant improvements in skin texture, wrinkles, and scars, skin discolorations such as age and sunspots, as well as tissue tightening.
Treatments with Fraxel have little downtime. Dr. Isaac recommends that you go home after the treatment and that you don’t have special events planned for 48 – 72 hours. The procedure is performed with only topical anesthetic, and there is no need for pain medication after the treatment.
Optimal results are achieved by a series of 3 – 5 treatment sessions spaced 2 – 4 weeks a part.
