Light treatments for wrinkles, skin discoloration and photoaging.
Photofacials are a series of intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments that improve the appearance of sun damaged skin, rosacea, flushing, age spots, spider veins and mild scarring. Photofacials reduce fine lines and improve dull complexions, uneven skin pigmentation, skin texture and reduces the appearances of large pores.
This safe and effective treatment involves little or no “downtime.” You can resume normal activities immediately.
The face, neck, chest, arms, back, legs, and hands can all be treated! The IPL will target both brown spots and red spots caused by sun damage.
The V Beam® is the state of the art pulsed dye laser that can treat Rosacea, facial veins, leg veins, scars, wrinkles around the eyes, red birthmarks (hemangiomas and port wine stains), angiomas, uneven coloring of the neck (poikiloderma), stretch marks, scars and even warts! The V Beam® mainly targets red lesions.
The pulsed dye laser delivers a gentle burst of yellow light to the skin. The light is specifically absorbed by the blood vessels in the skin. The blood becomes coagulated and then reabsorbed by the body leaving clearer, smoother skin behind!
Both V Beam® and
IPL Photofacial
treatments are scheduled 2-4 weeks apart and an average of 3 monthly treatments are recommended. Side effects are rare. Immediately after treatment, the skin may appear flushed, brown spots may appear darker and temporary swelling can occur (especially when treating around eyes). Spots will fade over several days revealing more rejuvenated skin.
For red birthmarks, larger red blood vessels and angiomas, temporary bruising or purpura can occur. This bruising can last up to 2 weeks depending on the size of the red spot and areas being treated.
For an added “boost”, Aminolevulanic Acid (ALA) may be applied to the skin prior to laser or light treatment for a more aggressive therapy. (See photodynamic therapy)
