LUXIR Tissue Tightening
The LuxIR is a new light-based solution for deep skin tightening. The procedure is non-surgical and uses safe, infrared light to cause the collagen in the skin's dermis to contract and tighten. It can be used in all areas of the body where tighter skin is desired. While the infrared energy is heating the dermis, the LuxIR's continuous-contact, cooling handpiece is keeping the skin's outer layer cool and comfortable. The procedure takes from 15-60 minutes depending upon the size of the area. Patients do not require any anesthetic, as the procedure is virtually painless.

During your procedure the doctor or one of her assistants guides the LuxIR computer-controlled delivery device over your treatment area. First, you will feel a cooling sensation as the LuxIR infrared energy is delivered to the deeper layers of the skin. Then, you will feel a comfortable, but warm sensation. The energy causes the collagen support tissues to contract and tighten.

Choosing LuxIR Tissue Tightening
During your consultation, you will want to explain the level of skin improvement you hope to achieve to the doctor. The doctor will examine your skin and your medical history to determine if you are good candidate for LuxIR Tissue Tightening. Together you will discuss your expectations and decide on the best treatment for you. Photographs may be taken for reference to compare your results.

The LuxIR technology provides a solution for reducing signs of aging in patient's face, neck, chest, underarms, abdomen, hands, thighs, knees, and breasts.

Who can be treated with the LuxIR?
Since the LuxIR uses infrared light to heat the tissues below the skin's surface, all patients concerned with loose and sagging skin, regardless of skin type or color, may benefit from LuxIR Tissue Tightening.

What results can I expect?
Loose and sagging skin can be tightened. This procedure is not a face lift, but gives modest tightening of the skin. Some patients see results quickly and are satisfied after only one treatment. However, for most patients the results are gradual as more collagen is produced and the skin tightens over a three to six month period.

How many treatments will I need?
Depending on your skin's laxity, the area to be treated and the results you desire, multiple treatments may be required. During your consultation, your doctor will advise you as to the number and frequency of treatments that may be required to achieve your desired results. Keep in mind that the results from LuxIR Tissue Tightening are gradual and may take from three to six months to maximize the effects of the treatment. Dr. Isaac recommends that the LuxIR treatment be performed once a month x 3 sessions for most patients.

Recovery
After your treatment, you may notice some mild swelling and/or redness in the treatment area. This usually disappears within a few hours. You may resume normal activities (including wearing makeup) immediately. Applying ice to the treated area will reduce swelling.

Possible Side Effects
Side effects are rare. However, with any procedure adverse effects are possible. Since LuxIR delivers intense deep heat to the skin, there is a chance the skin surface can burn. Mild swelling and redness immediately after the treatment is expected. As always, sunscreens and applying ice post treatment is recommended.

Accent Radiofrequency (RF) Tissue Tightening
Radiofrequency is one of the latest noninvasive procedures for maintaining a youthful appearance . This advanced RF system incorporates a cooling system to protect the skin's outer surface while the RF energy heats the tissues causing tightening of the skin. The procedure is virtually painless. There is no bleeding, bruising, or downtime. The full effect of your treatment develops over a few months following the procedure and can be expected to last 1-2 years. Some patients see results immediately. Depending on the area treated and your desired results, multiple treatments spaced every 2-4 weeks may be required.
